Do you know what you would do while you’re standing in the store choosing a toothbrush for your child? Did you know that your little one’s toothbrush can actually have a major impact on their oral health? How do you choose the right brush for your child?

One of the most important things you can do for your little one’s teeth is picking a brush with soft bristles. If your child brushes too hard, or uses a brush with hard bristles, they could accidentally damage their teeth and their gums. In other words, when you choose your child’s next brush, please choose one with soft bristles.

You should also choose a brush that fits well inside your little one’s mouth. We recommend using a rounded head, instead of a rectangular one, since they usually fit better in your child’s mouth. If brushing is uncomfortable, your child will be more likely to not want to brush. A rounded brush will also help your child reach the back of their teeth.

Finally, please remember that you should replace your child’s toothbrush every few months. If a brush is frayed or used for too long, it could harbor harmful bacteria. You can also help your child want to brush their teeth by choosing a design they enjoy.
